Christmas Luncheon in Lethbridge - Nov 12/07
We attended a Christmas Luncheon hosted by the Lethbridge Cinnamon Sisters and it was certainly an event to remember. All chapterettes attending were requested to decorate our Red Hats for Christmas and what a amazing display; everything from extravagance to simple Santa hats, to elegant creations. Not to mention all those flashing and twinkling lights sprouting form the heads of some of those Red Hatters that Matter! I would have not wanted to be a judge!
After being served a delicious lunch and scrumptious dessert (of course, we do love dessert!) Elvis appeared! You should have heard the shouts and whistles from the "over 50" gathering of well dressed ladies! A genuine hoot was underway!
True to his press release, he is not an impersonator, he "Pays Tribute to the King." This charismatic special man, Stuart MacLeod, who looks like the King, has the moves, and with an incredible "Presley" voice, gave a stellar performance as he roamed among the tables singing and shaking all our hands. I had the very distinct pleasure of him singing Happy Birthday to me. If we closed our eyes, we would think it truly Elvis himself. His stunning performance ended after an hour and a half of his great repertoire of Elvis songs and a few Christmas Carols with Red Hatters singing along.
At its conclusion, it was simply a must to have a picture taken with Elvis and as I listened to all the chatter, laughter and huge smiles on the faces of all those lovely Red Hatters, I knew it was a successful endeavor by the Cinnamon Sisters.
In Fun and Hilarity, Queen Mum Sandy
