To "break our fast" with other Red Hatters, it was necessary to arrise from our warm beds early to arrive at our destination in North Lethbridge. We were even a bit early! Five of us joined with the host Chapter, Lavender & Lace along with several other Chapters. This was not a pajama morning, just a warm welcome to share with others a bit of the Irish. The table centerpieces were lovely pots of flowers with Red & Purple Hats and Green Shamrocks. Queen Bonnie and her girls did a marvelous job of making everyone feel welcome. After partaking of fruit, Eggs Benedict, waffles, sausages, and hash browns, the seniors from Norbridge Center sang for us. They are quite the band with pianist, fiddler, drummer, siging Irish Songs which made us want to jump up and join them while dancing the jig! (a few of us did, well, not the jig but a fair amount of moving!) With Red Hatters it just doesn't matter where or when we grab the fun of dancing or singing or even the time of day!
Get Red Hat Chapterettes together, we play, it's what we do! There were several prizes awarded for winning ticket numbers. With a big smile... I won once again! Following a bit of socializing, Queen Bonnie and several of her girls were extremely entertaining with their rendition of a "Hillybilly Band" singing somewhat twisted lyrics into Red Hat songs. They were absolutely hilarious and one gal in particular with blackened teeth, shouted out those lyrics to us getting quite a response of outright laughter and a few giggles. All in fun of course!
A good time was had by all Red Hatters attending and as usual, hated for the fun to end. Until the next time. and there are several events planned for the coming months so you can look forward to hearing about them in future as we are the Happy Chief Mountain Red Hats of Cardston!
In Fun & Hilarity!
Queen Mum Sandy
