A busy month of November 2007

The winning hat! |
On the 8th we had lunch at the Remington Carriage Museum Restaurant, followed by the Craft Show being held there. Lamar sets an impressive menu, enough choices to satisfy the very diversified tastes of 12 Red Hatters and one guest.
After lunch and much chatter and laughter, we created quite a stir in our Red & Purple amongst the many vendors and shoppers. I am always amazed to find there are so many talented people in our little corner of the world! It was a terrific Craft Show with so much to see, hear, touch, taste and smell - the senses were on high alert for these Red Hatters that Matter!
Shopping is one or our favorite pastimes and we all: Queen Mum Sandy, Vice Queen Edwardina Darlene. Countess of Harmony Fran, Princess of Quite A Lot Cynthia, Lady Leona of Violet, Lady Linda, Countess de Crochet Anna, Countess of Line Dancing Amy, Lady Val of the House of Aetna, Countess of Calm Kia, and our guest Anna from Calgary visiting our Lady Leona…. left with a great number of packages and very satisfied smiles of what we had purchased and at the same time trying to hold onto our hats in the wind! Our next encounter with food, of course, was a Luncheon at Parkside Inn Lethbridge as invited guests of The Scarlet Pumpernickels to meet and greet other Chapter Red Hatters. Red Hat excitement and animated conversations are non stop when you get 20 of us together! Queen Mum Sandy, Countess of Calm Fran, Princess of Quite A Lot Cynthia, and her daughter Alisha as a guest, Countess de Crochet Anna, Lady Val of the House of Aetna, Countess of Calm Kia, all had a marvelous time meeting new Red Hats.
Those hats! They are as diversified as we ladies are and each wearing what suits them best but always with Red Hattitude! (click here for more photos
Countess of Harmony Fran, and myself, drove to Claresholm on the 17th for a full turkey dinner with the Foxy Ladies to kick off the Christmas Season with other Red Hatters from Calgary and south - we come from far and wide with any excuse to have fun! Each of us were asked to decorate our Red Hats for Christmas . I am proud to say that our own Countess of Harmony Fran won a gift for the Most Elegant Hat in a room full of 125 Red Hatters! (Her Winning Hat is pictured above!) I was tickled to win a door prize! (click here to see more photos)
It isn’t always possible for every Chapterette to attend all the wonderful functions we are invited to. However, whether it is 2 or 20 as Red Hatters dressed in our Splendid Royal Purple and Red Hats, we do gain much attention and have a great deal of fun!
“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” is a song we have adopted. We even have a girl bear dressed in Red Hat and Purple clothes that sings that song! Needless to say, she is our little mascot and attends many of our events. Fun! It’s what we do!
Queen Julia of the Klassy Crimson Hatters, another Cardston Chapter of Red Hatters that Matter and myself, attended an open house last week of renowned Artist Carol Robinson of Raymond. What a grand time we had viewing as well as purchasing several of her wonderful prints and getting to know each other in the true Red Hat Way of Friendship! Queen Julia won the draw of a beautiful portrait of a lady in a large Red Hat painted by Artist Carol and I won a door prize; 3 of her lovely small boxes she had painted! That made it all so much more fun in spite of the miserable weather and the road conditions!
Our Red Hattitude just has to be the reason we are so lucky and have so much fun!
In Fun & Hilarity,
Queen Mum Sandy
